Overview

Join a growing team that has a large backlog full of exciting projects on some of the most iconic transportation facilities in the country. The selected candidate will have the unique opportunity to serve as a Traffic Operator at an on-site Transportation Management Center (TMC) for one of the largest redevelopment projects in the country. 

Responsibilities

As a traffic operator, you will monitor real-time traffic conditions and help to coordinate active transportation management solutions. Responsibilities include monitoring, detecting, responding, mitigating, and disseminating information about traffic conditions to effectively maintain the transportation system through a host of events, both planned and unplanned. Position offers unique ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders including upper management, first responders, and other partner agencies creating an invigorating career opportunity.

Qualifications

  • Strong background in the principles of Traffic Engineering and Operations; with practical experience preferred (but not required)
  • BS in Civil Engineering preferred (but not required)
  • 0-10 years of Traffic Engineering experience
  • Strong familiarity with the MUTCD and other transportation publications
  • Strong familiarity with Maintenance of Traffic principles
  • OSHA 10 certification preferred (but not required)
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to gather information from multiple sources and evaluate cause/effect relationship of actions taken
  • Ability to perform tasks effectively under pressure
  • Effective time management and organizational skills, including the ability to mulit-task
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Willingness to work onsite as part of TMC team and contribute equally to off-hour shifts
  • Valid driver’s license
