Maser Consulting has a newly created opportunity for a Corporate Legal Counsel to support its growth and expansion. The Corporate Legal Counsel serves in the capacity of legal expert for matters pertaining to developing project contracts, contractual disputes, and formal claims and litigation. Coordinate efforts with other internal teams to propose appropriate risk management, identify critical project risk issues and make recommendations and provide summation of documents for execution. This is a corporate position, handling cases for the entire organization. You will also develop strategies for protecting the companies interests. The successful candidate will also manage and direct external legal counsel. This is an excellent opportunity to be a sole contributor in an established and successful corporation. Some travel involved. This position will report to the CAO.


  • Law degree with a license to practice in the State of New Jersey.
  • 5-7 years of relevant legal experience, preferably including in-house employment law experience.
  • Substantial litigation experience or experience managing litigation, contract review and disputes.
  • Experience with internal and external investigations, including responding to administrative agency charges.
  • Experience in analyzing non-compete/non-solicit agreements and drafting cease and desist letters.
  • In depth knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations including Title VII, FEHA, Americans with Disabilities Act, Family Medical Leave Act, EEO laws, wage and hour and other federal and local laws affecting the employer-employee relationship.
  • Experience with AAPs and OFCCP audits.
  • Demonstrate successful ability to integrate with and provide strategic counsel to Human Resources department and other internal business partners.
  • Possess strong client-relations, interpersonal, written and oral communication and analytic skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and professionally with all levels of management regarding complex employment legal issues.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and juggle multiple priorities and work with various stakeholders.


  • Knowledge and experience with traditional labor law, particularly in the engineering and construction industry, is a plus.
  • Ideal candidates should have excellent drafting, writing and analytical skills, strong attention to detail, organizational, verbal, interpersonal and project management skills
  • Build close relationships with personnel at supported business units.
  • Actively participate in the development and execution of the company’s business strategies and tactics
  • Build relationship with and manage outside counsel
  • Local candidates preferred.
